If you have two days to spend exploring Haderslev, prepare for many great surprises here. To make the most of your visit, follow this guide.

Day 1:

Morning in Haderslev city centre (10:00 - 12:00)

Start your day with a cup of coffee and a delicious brunch at one of our many cafés.

Visit the city's most visited attraction, Haderslev Cathedral, and treat yourself to a tour of the beautiful old town of Haderslev. Make the most of the tour with your own tour guide (book a guide at 73 70 92 21). If you have time, you can find 2 of the city's museums (Ehlers Samlingen and Von Oberbergs Hus) in the old town.

Afternoon in Haderslev town (12:00 - 18:00)

After your visit to the old town of Haderslev, Torvet or Gravene can be a suitable place to have lunch. There are good opportunities for outdoor seating if the weather permits. You might be lucky enough to pass by Gravene on the two days of the week (Tuesday and Friday) when there are market days.

Now set a course through the cosy maiden voyage and on to the north side of the harbour. Here you can take a nice walk along the fjord, passing the large international mural by Victor Ash, StreetDome - one of Denmark's largest skateparks and many other architecturally beautiful buildings. Continue on and enjoy the beautiful view of Haderslev Fjord, relax at Kulkajen Strandbar or Saltlageret - street food & events. Enjoy drinks and delicious street food (open on weekends and for events).

If you've brought your bike on holiday, you can get a really beautiful bike ride by heading out to Denmark's second largest Deer Park, perhaps with a stop in Pamhule at their 3D archery. See if you can hit the bull's eye with the family and pick your winner before heading back to the city.

Now it's time to browse the shops. Perhaps you've already spotted some shops that need a closer look? If you've parked at Wittenbergplads, you're centrally parked in relation to the pedestrian zone and you'll have 2 hours to browse the shops and do your shopping after your cruise.

You can also visit Haderslev's green oasis Damparken. Take a walk around Inderdammen, perhaps when the Dorothea steam boat departs and you can take a boat trip on the largest pond in Southern Jutland.

Evening in Haderslev (18.00 - 22.00)

Now you have the opportunity to make a little trip by car.

Take an evening trip to castle town Gram and have dinner at the cosy castle inn Gram Slotskro (we recommend you book a table). End the day with a visit to Gram Castle, the castle garden and a stroll through the town. On your way to Gram, you can make a detour to the active railway station town of Vojens or the beautiful Tørning Watermill.

You can also choose to stay in Haderslev. Enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants, followed by a drink at one of the local bars, perhaps with live music.

Day 2:

Morning in Haderslev (10:00 - 12:00)

Start your day in the cosy harbour town of Aarøsund. Take a nice walk on the beach or the pier. If the sun is out, a bath in the blue sea waves might be just the thing. If you're more active and have brought your hiking boots, you can head out on the Camino Haderslev Næs hiking route just before Gammelbro Camping. It's a 106-kilometre-long route that winds through the landscape of Southern Jutland. If you're looking for more great experiences, a visit to the art gallery in Aarøsund, the Lindegaarden farm shop or a game of Adventure Golf at Gammelbro Camping might also tempt you.

Have dinner at Havnegrillen and grab an ice cream at the harbour. Take an evening walk on Camino Haderslev Næs or end the day with a game of mini golf at Gammelbro Camping. You can also head to the harbour town of Aarøsund. If there's time, consider taking your ice cream on Aarø, the ferry journey is only 7 minutes.

Afternoon in Haderslev (12.00 - 18.00)

From Aarøsund you can take the 7-minute ferry journey to Aarø. We don't recommend taking a car to the island, as you can easily get around without one. Start your afternoon by choosing your mode of transport - do you want to walk, cycle or drive a golf cart around the island. Next, find a good place to have lunch, a light lunch can be an advantage as the island is known to tempt you with many flavours along the way. After lunch, it's time to join a guided tour. We recommend that you book your guided tour before you arrive on the island, as there are several different types of guided tours to choose from.

While travelling around Aarø, you can enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace at Aarø Vingård. You can buy wine, liqueurs and sparkling drops to take home. Opposite the vineyard there is a fun nature playground for the little ones and a Parkgolf course you can try your hand at. Visit Aarø Bryghus, take a seat in the courtyard and taste Æ'Mæsk, Gåsefod or one of the other delicious beers. Aarø also has locally produced honey, Galloway products, smoked salmon, seaweed salts, grape wine gum, schnapps, jams, signature sausages and much more. Don't forget to stop at Aarø Wildlife Reserve (can be visited if it's not breeding season), Aarø Camping and the Christmas Church.

Evening in Haderslev (18.00 - 22.00)

After your visit to Aarø, it's time for dinner. Maybe you're not that hungry? Take the car out over Næsset and down to Hejsager Strand. The beach is one of Haderslev's best bathing beaches and in summer it's buzzing with people. Stop by Hejsager Strandgrill to satisfy your hunger and, if there's room, maybe even an ice cream.
