At several places in Sønderjylland you can find traces of the Second World War. Furthest to the west you’ll find bunker facilities on the island of Rømø, whilst to the south you can visit Frøslev Prison Camp.
On the morning of 9 April 1940, Danish airspace was invaded by aircrafts from the German air force, the Luftwaffe, and changed significantly until the end of World War II.
