Hundreds of couples get married every year in Aabenraa’s historic town hall chamber, providing a beautiful backdrop for one of life’s most important events. The town hall chamber is located on the first floor of the Old Town Hall at Storegade 30 in Aabenraa.
At certain times during the summer months, it is also typically possible to have your wedding ceremony on the beach in Aabenraa – you should contact the Marriage Office if you want to know more. A standard ceremony lasts about 20 minutes, and as a couple, you can bring up to 50 wedding guests.

All parking in Aabenraa is free – you just need to keep an eye on how long you are allowed to park. A few parking spaces behind the Old Town Hall, Storegade 30, are reserved for town hall visitors – including couples getting married – but these are often occupied.
You may prefer to park in the following locations: the parking garage at Madevej/Skrænten, the marketplace at Madevej, or in Humlehaven in Aabenraa. Here, you can enjoy unlimited parking or parking for up to four hours. Do not park in front of the Old Town Hall (parking prohibited) and avoid Rådhusgade (only 30-minute parking).
Remember to bring a parking disc or contact the tourist office (VisitAabenraa) for assistance. Parking discs can be purchased at most gas stations and hardware stores.
For those with mobility difficulties: To access the historic town hall chamber where the ceremony takes place, you need to go up stairs to the first floor. Alternatively, you can use the outdoor elevator at the rear entrance, located in the private parking area behind the building.
