Gendarmstien - Plan your trip

The Gendarmstien’s 84-kilometre hiking route takes you through varied countryside – largely following in the footsteps of the gendarmes on their patrols along the coast.

The trail is certified as a Leading Quality Trail and, as such, is signposted in both directions, so you can start the route in Padborg or Skovby on the island of Als.

Do you need kilometre markers?
Unfortunately, we are unable to automatically display kilometre markers on the map of the Gendarmstien below, so a workaround might be to use ‘How far did I go’ – where you can enter your start and end points and then draw the route to the Gendarmstien where it diverges from the route – Find out more here
