As a large section of Gendarmstien runs through rural areas and is therefore not covered by a regular bus route, with school buses often being the only option, challenges arise during school holidays and at weekends when buses do not run.

For several years, it has been possible to book Flextur, but to make it easier for drivers and walkers to ‘find’ each other out on the route, 14 pick-up/drop-off points have been established for the Flextur scheme, with Flextrafik signs along the route.
