Egernsund Kirke

The church in Egernsund is very young; it was built of hand stroke stones from the region's own brick works in 1909.

Egernsund Kirke was built according to drawings by Richard Jepsen Dethlefsen, who had been the construction manager for the restoration of the cathedral in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad) in 1901 and transferred stylistic features from it to the small church in his hometown.

The church has a southern European atmosphere. The altar figures originate from Tyrol.
