Lace up Your Hiking Boots and Stay at the Gendarm Path (Gendarmstien)
Lace up your hiking boots, pack a lunch, and take a walk on the historic Gendarm Path, which winds 84 kilometers along the fjord from Padborg to Høruphav on Als and passes right by your spot.
Many also use the site for overnight stays during longer hikes on the Gendarm Path.
Sønderjysk Coffee Table and Dybbøl Mill
Gråsten Castle serves the grand Sønderjysk coffee table at Den Gamle Kro. So it might be a good idea to start with a tour of the park.
There’s almost an obligation to visit Dybbøl Mill.
At the campground near Sønderborg, you’re close to the History Center Dybbøl Banke, where soldiers, tours, and more are available during the season. Take a walk around the 10 forts among the reminders of the wars of 1848 and 1864.
Kollund Camping with Excursions to Flensburg and Als
The science adventure park Universe on Als is less than an hour away and offers experiences for a whole day. But remember to stop in Sønderborg for a few cozy hours in the town's pedestrian zone, shops, and cafés. Flensburg is under 30 minutes away, and when you’re camping near Flensburg, you can easily spend a day in the beautiful and cozy city and explore Schleswig with Glücksburg Castle, Gottorf Castle, the Haithabu Viking Museum, and Dannevirke.
Accommodation in Kollund for Every Taste
When you’re in Kollund at the campground by Flensburg Fjord, you can either stay in your own camper or tent or book one of the site’s cabins.
There are both budget cabins and larger cabins for five people with two bedrooms. The site is also one of the closest if you’re looking for camping in Kruså.
Camping by Flensburg Fjord
If you want to camp near Flensburg, the site is an excellent choice with its location right by the Flensburg Fjord and a view over the water into the large city on the other side of the fjord.
It’s a beautiful sight in the evening to look out over the water toward the land jutting out to the left and the city lights to the right.
Camping by Flensburg Fjord at DCU-Camping Kollund is especially picturesque.
