Bov Kro
Visit the historic inn located right by the Hærvejen and the Danish-German border.
The history of Bov Kro is also the history of Hærvejen, the ancient route running through Jylland from Viborg to Slesvig.
As early as 1566, Bov Kro was granted a royal privilege – making it one of the very first inns in Denmark. The Danish hospitality is still very much alive at Bov Kro. Following a series of renovations and extensions, the inn today combines historical atmosphere with modern comfort in an elegant way. The inn has 17 double rooms, renovated in 2013. All rooms feature a private entrance, bathroom, toilet, and flat-screen TV.
The good old traditions live on in the inn’s restaurant, which serves traditional Danish inn cuisine as well as New Nordic dishes, combined with exceptional gastronomic experiences in the à la carte restaurant, known for its high quality standards. The culinary delights are created in a modern kitchen, where baking and preserving are also carried out according to proud, natural traditions.
Bov Kro is located just a few kilometres from the Danish-German border, making it an excellent base for exploring the historic border region. Nearby attractions include Dybbøl Mølle, Gråsten Slot, and Sønderborg Slot. It only takes a few minutes by car to reach Flensborg, and the many border shops are almost right around the corner.
If you feel like going for a walk, you can follow the Gendarmstien along the Flensborg Fjord. For those interested in history, Frøslevlejren is only 3 km away – a camp built by the German occupying forces to house prisoners of war.
