In Sønderborg Municipality, weddings of couples from Denmark usually take place at Sønderborg City Hall, while couples from abroad are married in the former city council hall in Det Gamle Rådhus in the royal residence town of Gråsten or at Nørherredhus in Nordborg on the island of Als.
