Bovvej 9

6200 Aabenraa

“Spor fra fortiden” is a travelling archaeological exhibition visiting five locations in Sønderjylland, including Padborg near Aabenraa.

The exhibition explores the traces that people have left behind in the ground and landscape over time, and what these traces can tell us about people in the past and their everyday lives.

In Padborg, the exhibition focuses on the Bronze Age.

The exhibition also answers some of the questions that archaeologists from Museum Sønderjylland are often asked: What do you find most often? Who pays for the excavations? And why do you excavate?

The exhibition is free to visit and open to everyone.

Opening hours: 8.00 am–8.00 pm

The exhibition is located in a small blue container at SuperBrugsen in Padborg from 10 October to 5 November 2026.

Meet the museum’s archaeologists and join a self-guided tour
On Saturday 10 October, you can also join a self-drive tour to archaeological sites in the local area. The tour will take a closer look at the industrial area in Padborg. Simply meet at the container at Bovvej 9 at 10.00 am. The tour ends at approximately 1.00 pm.

On Thursday 29 October, you can meet an archaeologist at the container from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm, who will tell you more about the finds on display.
