Halloween in Sønderborg

October, when a sense of (un)cosiness takes hold in the city of Sønderborg, is the time before the truly dark and cold winter months, when the bats and spiders go into hibernation.

But before then, you can encounter both creepy-crawlies and bats when Rønhavepladsen in Sønderborg city centre is once again transformed into a spine-chilling Halloween forest from the start of October.

If you don’t dare to visit at night, pop in during the day, but if you’re looking for a truly special, extra experience – then you should visit the forest after dark. The Halloween forest is open round the clock and can be visited right up until 31 October.

Week 42 of the autumn half-term break features an exciting murder mystery, where from Monday to Friday you can help solve the mystery of ‘Who is the murderer from Bryggertorvet?’. On Friday, there’ll be face painting and you can have fun carving pumpkins from 11.am in the Shoppingcenter Borgen, and out on the street you’ll need to keep a particularly sharp eye out – because you might just bump into the witch Hulda!
