Sønderstrand is Aabenraa’s city beach, located centrally in the town.

The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag – your guarantee of excellent water quality and top-notch facilities. Sønderstrand is especially family-friendly and very popular with both locals and tourists. You’ll also find the town’s motorhome parking area right next to the beach.

At Sønderstrand, you’ll also find Restaurant Under Sejlet.

The restaurant has an ice cream kiosk that’s open during the summer months, while the main restaurant is open all year round.

At the beach, you can enjoy various activities such as beach volleyball, and there’s also a playground nearby.

The bathing jetty is wheelchair accessible, and there are toilets and changing rooms available. You can also take a walk along the pier with a beautiful view of Aabenraa Fjord. It’s a great spot for taking photos – perfect for special moments like weddings.

You can easily park your car right by the beach. Parking here is free and unlimited.
