Sønderskoven Als - shelter Hejren
Must be booked in advance - Coastal mini shelter for max. 3 people, directly on Gendarmstien. Tenting is allowed down by the beach.
Coastal shelter above the embankment and the primitive tent site at Sønderskoven Als. The shelter is named after a species of bird, of which the most common in our area is the grey heron.
You can sail to the site, which is marked with a red sign with the text ‘Overnatning’ (Overnight stay).
The mini shelter, Hejren, can accommodate 3 people and must be booked in advance. A maximum of 2 nights may be spent here, and it is not permitted to set up tents or light a campfire at the shelter.
For open fires and tenting, please use the campfire pit and primitive tent site down by the beach.
Firewood may be collected from the forest floor – please refrain from felling or cutting trees and bushes.
Please respect nature – keep dogs on a leash and avoid noisy behaviour.
Leave the area clean and tidy – take your rubbish with you or place it in the rubbish bin.
About booking shelters:
When you book a shelter, you get first dibs on that shelter – not the whole place, which others are welcome to use while you're there. The booking is from noon to noon the next day.
You will receive an email from the booking system 10 days before the booked date. Here you must confirm that you still want to use the shelter on the desired day or cancel the booking. If you do not respond to the email, the booking will be automatically cancelled 6 days before the booked date.
Once you have confirmed the booking, you must use the shelter before 8 p.m. on the day, after which the priority right expires and others may use it.
Shelters can be booked 3 months in advance.
