Mjels Sø - scenic nature at the island of Als
Mjels Lake has been both drained and cultivated since the 1800s, but in 2006 it was recreated as a lake.
Birds have flocked to the area to create a varied bird life along the lake, where you can view geese, ducks and grebes up close in their natural habitat.
The pump house at the western end offers the opportunity to sit indoors with a packed lunch and has a small viewing platform where you will also find a display board showing the different bird species.
