Beach diving at Trittons Rev
At Sønderborg city, the artificially constructed Trittons Rev reef is ideal for snorkelling and divingtours.
Trittons Rev is located in the historic area near Sønderborg Castle and is an artificial reef created by the Als Stenrev association in 2016.
The reef consists of 800 m3 of stones, creating a unique habitat for marine biodiversity in the form of countless small caves between the stones for the smallest algae, fish, shellfish and molluscs. The reef helps to strengthen biodiversity and is part of a local nature restoration project. It is suitable for both snorkellers and scuba divers.
The reef consists of several small groups of rock formations starting from 1 metre to 12 metres deep, offering the opportunity to explore different kinds of life. There is an information board and a snorkelling route with underwater boards.
In summer, it can be difficult to find a parking space close to the dive site due to beach visitors. After unloading your equipment, you may need to park at the castle quay 500 metres from the beach (4-hour time limit). Underwater hunting is not permitted in the area.
