District heating and excess heat in Aabenraa

Aabenraa Fjernvarme (Aabenraa District Heating) and European Energy, which operates the PtX plant in Kassø, have entered into an agreement to use surplus heat from production in Aabenraa’s district heating network, supplying heat to approximately 3,300 households.
The production of e-methanol generates surplus heat. Instead of being cooled at the plant, the heat is brought to the temperature required by Aabenraa District Heating and transported through a pipeline from the facility in Kassø to the district heating plant, from where it can be distributed to local households.
