Surplus heat from PtX production
Surplus heat from PtX production supplies households on the district heating network.
Aabenraa Fjernvarme (Aabenraa District Heating) and European Energy, which operates the PtX plant in Kassø, have entered into an agreement to use surplus heat from production to deliver green district heating to approximately 3,300 households in Aabenraa. During the PtX production of e-methanol, surplus heat is generated, which, instead of being cooled down at the plant, is further heated so that Aabenraa District Heating can distribute it to household radiators. This is achieved through a heat pipeline from the facility in Kassø to the district heating plant.
